on The River

There are two sets of documentation and one set of release notes available on this page.

1. The River User's Manual (ver. 1.0)
   This is the nuts-and-bolts manual for members of The River, dealing with most of the common commands and situations, including a section on River Practices and other cultural info.

2. The Official YAPP Manual
   This is the web version of the official manual for the YAPP conferencing software. Use it to gain more insight into how YAPP works. It does not address various customizations and aliases that have been added by The River for its own uses, most of which are dealt with in the manual above.

3. FreeBSD Release Notes (ver. 2.2.8R)
   Free BSD is the Operating System used on The River. These notes give some background, but to get detailed information on Free BSD commands, type !man <command> at a YAPP prompt.
